Is fiat (i own one and proud) the worlds largest car manufacturer. Owning ferrari, maserati, and 3 others?

No, it is Toyota. This includes wholly owned subsidiaries, etc. It was GM for a very long time, but it is no longer. Fiat, including the companies it owns, is #11.

update: To those insisting it is GM, VW, or others strictly based on the fact that they own 8 or more other companies really need to check facts. My link is factual and is including ALL subsidiary (aka. owned) companies.|||Fiat does own the ones you said, but I think GM is the worlds largest manufacturer|||Could be one of the biggest today, but is certainly one of the oldest with a thoroughbred pedigree. You are a lucky one who owns a Fiat; shows you have aesthetic sense and a taste for cars.

Happy motoring.|||At least for Europe they are. They also own Lancia %26amp; Alfa Romeo. FIAT also owns Iveco which manufactures most of the big trucks in Europe too.|||No, its VW. They own seat, bugatti, lamborghini, Rolls Royce etc|||toyota are a huge company, but the question refers to car manufacture and not microwave ovens and oil tankers etc.for car manufacture alone, AIG[formerly VW] are now the largest|||No.

GM(General Motors) is the largest company owning Chevy, GMC, Cadillac, Hummer, Saturn, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick, Holden, Opel, Vauxhall, and Saab.

VW owns Audi, Lamborghini, Skoda, Seat, Bently, Bugatti, and Spyker. And VW works with Porsche, who now owns the controlling stock of VW. So you can say Porsche owns all of these.

These two companies own more companies than any other company.

But GM has the most sales in the world.
